Custom Cabinet Finishes:
Hand-Applied Stains and Paint Colors
Hand-finishing is a time-honored technique that delivers rich, consistent color and a refined, high-end appearance - something robotics simply can’t replicate. It’s a difference you can actually see and feel - every time you run your hand across the surface. We use advanced conversion varnish and paint systems that outperform traditional lacquers. This finish penetrates and bonds to the wood, resulting in a long-lasting surface that resists chipping far better than pre-catalyzed or vinyl alternatives. Stain samples are available upon request for wood species not shown on our site. Custom stain or paint matching is also available to meet your clients’ exact design vision. PLEASE NOTE: If you experience noticeable finish odors during the curing process, we recommend opening cabinet doors & drawers for a few days. Use of a fan to create air movement will speed up this process.
In the video below, you’ll be able to watch the process of applying stain and finish by hand. Stain is first sprayed on, then hand-rubbed with cloth to carry the color into every corner and molding detail, and to keep the tone even across the grain. After rubbing, we lightly spray additional stain where needed to fill in lighter spots and reduce natural variation from piece to piece.
REMEMBER - Computer screens and printers will vary color. Stain colors will be influenced by the grain and wood species. Therefore, these samples may not be an exact wood grain or stain representation.
