Alder is known for its warm color, smooth texture, and fairly straight grain. It stains well and offers a softer, more natural appearance than many harder wood species.

Recommendation for Designers & Contractors:

• Choose Alder when the project calls for a warm, natural cabinet finish with a softer look than Maple.
• Alder works well for rustic, farmhouse, transitional, and relaxed custom cabinetry styles.
• For the most accurate color choice, review a physical sample. Wood grain, natural character, lighting, and screen settings can all affect color.
