Penwood Manufacturing is an Amish-owned custom cabinet shop based in the heart of Ohio’s woodworking community. Since 1999, we’ve partnered with contractors, designers, and design-build firms to deliver cabinetry that performs beautifully for decades.
Our name comes from founder Paul E. Nisley (P.E.N.), and it reflects a simple commitment to

Staining and finishing, done by hand with purpose.
In the video below, you’ll see how we apply stain and finish by hand. Stain is first sprayed on, then hand-rubbed with cloth to carry the color into every corner and molding detail, and to keep the tone even across the grain. After rubbing, we lightly spray additional stain where needed to fill in lighter spots and reduce natural variation from piece to piece.
The premium conversion paint or clear finish is applied with a handheld sprayer to coat detailed profiles evenly. This approach combines efficiency with careful workmanship - creating depth, consistent color, and a warm surface you can see and feel.

We previously ordered an entertainment center from this company and were so impressed with quality that we special ordered our living room tables to match wood, stain and hardware of the entertainment center. From my first phone call with Ura who I spoke with on design, wood stain and hardware to getting tentative computer generated images of these tables, the customer service experience was just outstanding.
